MINI'S – KINDY & YEAR 1

Starting big school is an exciting new adventure – and so is dancing at Danceworks!

Our Mini’s classes are specially designed for children in Kindergarten and Year 1, giving young dancers the opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, make friends and discover just how much fun dance can be.

Whether your child has been dancing since they were little or is stepping into a dance class for the very first time, they’ll be welcomed into a fun, encouraging and supportive environment where they can learn at their own pace and feel proud of what they achieve.

At Danceworks, we believe dance is about so much more than learning steps.

Our Mini’s develop confidence, coordination, musicality, creativity and performance skills while learning the importance of teamwork, commitment and encouraging one another.

Most importantly, we want every child to walk into the studio feeling excited to be there and walk out feeling proud of themselves.

Our Mini’s can explore a variety of exciting classes, including:

Jazz – Upbeat, energetic and full of personality!
Tap – Learn rhythm, musicality and make some noise!
Ballet – Build beautiful foundations, technique, posture and grace.
Hip Hop – Fun, funky and packed with energy.
Lyrical – Combine movement, music and expression.
Acrobatics – Develop strength, flexibility and exciting new skills.
Musical Theatre – Dance, perform and bring characters to life on stage.

Singing – Develop vocal skills, musicality and confidence. 

Set the Scene (Acting) – Explore characters, storytelling and creative expression.

Children can choose the classes they love or try a combination of styles to experience even more of what Danceworks has to offer.

There is something pretty special about watching a child master a new skill, perform on stage for the first time or simply walk into class with a little more confidence each week.

Our teachers celebrate progress at every age and every stage. We encourage our Mini’s to try, learn, laugh, make mistakes and keep going – because every little achievement is worth celebrating.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Our Mini’s have exciting opportunities throughout the year to experience the magic of performing.

From studio events to our end-of-year concert, performing gives our dancers the chance to showcase everything they have learnt, build confidence and create some very special memories with their dance friends.

And for children who simply want to dance for fun? That’s absolutely okay too!
